REDEFINING AUTOMOBILE & THE HYUNDAI WAY

“When patterns are broken, new worlds emerge.” —Tuli Kupferberg

The technology is changing at a faster pace than we ever imagined. The technology is bringing new dimensions. These dimensions bring about changes in the buying patterns of customers, thus change the business.

Today, it is not just mobility, it is mobility with experience. Hyundai has always been ahead in the race with the changing technology & changing business model. Let's talk about some of them:

CHANGING BUSINESS
Hyundai Leasing

There has been a significant rise in the business of rental car services. All that the new generation doesn't want is the hassles of ownership, car maintenance, repairs, breakdown assistance, and insurance.  They want it to be taken care of, by someone while they just pay for what they use for. This is why Hyundai came up with Hyundai Lease. Hyundai offers various car models under lease rentals enabling the customers to get a car easily.

Hyundai Subscription

The millennials are now looking for something more flexible rather than traditionally buying a new car. Hyundai subscription offers its customers a brand new car at zero down payment, zero tax. This model also takes care of the changing mindset of the new generation with the easy swap (when you want to change to a new model, even after subscription), switch (when you move to a new city) & hassle-free payment options. The percentage of users availing these types of services is set to increase in the future.

CHANGING TECHNOLOGY

Sustainability through technology

There is a paradigm shift in the technology that is used to drive the automobile. Hyundai has already stepped into sustainable technology through its constant research. Hyundai Kona Electric, Ioniq Electric marks the beginning of electric vehicles in the passenger vehicle segments.  Hyundai also has a car in the hybrid vehicle segment - the Ioniq Hybrid & the Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid.

Hyundai Motors is also one of the first companies to develop hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles on a commercial scale. Hyundai iX 35 and Hyundai Nexo are the new generation hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles.
Hyundai is carrying out its studies to explore the potential of a hydrogen-powered future. This is done by analyzing the policies, regulations, infrastructure, market sophistication, research & development of various countries.

What's there for the future?

THE LAST MILE MOBILITY

Portable Electric Scooter from Hyundai

The last mile mobility refers to the last stretch of the journey. It includes walking, bike-sharing, etc!

Wouldn't it be cool if we have something, that can take you to your destination after getting out of your car?  Hyundai has developed a micro-mobility vehicle. A portable electric scooter! This comes with a 10.5 aH battery, with a range of 20 km. This makes the first and the last mile of the journey very easy.

Hyundai Elevate - The walking car!

The walking car? Yes, the car that can walk & climb! Hyundai has revealed its concept car, Hyundai Elevate in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 at Las Vegas. This four-legged vehicle concept is a combination of an electric vehicle with robotic legs. These robotic legs can be used for extended mobility like climbing terrains, moving on rough roads, etc. Elevate is designed with four robotic legs with wheels for feet which can roll, extend, or retract. This concept, therefore, makes it capable of extraordinary duties. This enables the vehicle to climb any terrain, fording rivers, rough roads, strewn landscapes, forests, snow, etc. This vehicle can be faster, efficient, and resilient than off-road vehicles. The design relies on Hyundai's actuator technology. This technology grants the robotic arm, 6 degrees of freedom, which means 6 independent types of movement. They are vertical hip, horizontal hip, knee, ankle, steering, and w...

HYUNDAI NEXO - ONE STEP AHEAD TO FUTURE MOBILITY

While the whole world is thinking lithium-ion, Hyundai has already conceptualized the idea of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles way back!  For those, who have no idea of how a fuel cell works, here it is, explained to you! The hydrogen fuel cell works on a basic concept, the hydrogen, and oxygen is put together in a fuel cell. The fuel-cell combines them, producing electricity and emits water (water vapor) as a by-product. This electricity powers the motor.  Hyundai Nexo is a new cross-over powered by the hydrogen fuel cells. A 5 seater driven by an electric motor that delivers 395 Nm of Torque and 120 kW power. Hyundai Nexo Hyundai has developed advanced driver assistance systems such as Lane Following Assist (LFA) & Highway Driving Assist (HDA). Hyundai also has included cool features like the auto flush door handles, blind-spot view monitor (BVM), etc.  Two things, one would like to boast about Hyundai Nexo is the Remote Smart Park Assist (RSPA) &...
